For all players Flute Out There?

Could you please tell me how you stay in time when reading a piece of music. My flute teacher is someone imagine typing on their forehead while they play. But I find it hard to do! Also, what is your method for playing time signatures composed?! Thank you!

Tap your foot, use a metronome, all you can hear to feel to keep pace. This suggests that your teacher does not work for me, either. I approach everything I feel as difficult by slowing down, and sub-dividing the rhythm, learning the section, speading save. For example: 6 / 8 time. First count, slowly at 6. Then, at each level, once you can play in 6, keep your METRONOME count 6, but you tap your foot 2. If successful, the speed of a section little, playing in 6 until mastered, then two, as I have described. Keep doing this process until you achieve the necessary speed, and can play and think in two. It may seem like a long process … but it works!
