How should we deal with a 15 string harp?
I just bought a 15 string lap harp and I was wondering how should I look? I thought to give all the semi-finals and any notes from C to D an octave above the first C so I can play in any key, but I ended up having a very limited range. Also, if you can, please recommend any websites that have sheet music free thank you.
I do not play harp, but I know people who do. You give a diatonic C major scale – the strings are red and C blue strings are F's. Best value for more sophisticated models have sharping levers on C and F strings to facilitate Retuning to play in different keys (read in G? sharping Flip levers on all strings F to make F # 'S – no problem). Harps quality level must sharping levers on each string to make the instrument fully chromatic. If your instrument does not sharping levers, then play in different keys, you have to retune manually to get the sharps and flats required you will need the key you want. Hope this helps.
